People say that the colors you wear reprsent you. They also say that colors have powers. For example blue can calm a person down. What color do you like to wear and do you think it represents you?

Black is special for me. I like to wear black things. I think that even though black has all the colors inside none of em can escape. It is also a very charismatic color. Look at Neo or Darth Wader both of em wear black even though one of them fights for the good side. So, it doesnt matter if you are good or bad, black always looks good. However the society thinks mostly negatively about you if you wear black clothes.

White is my second favorite color. It is interesting that these two totally opposite colors are my favorite colors.

Red and Black together is the perfect mix.

the colours you wear depends not just on what you like but on what suits you. black won't suit a dark person as well as it'll suit a fair person for eg.

my maths teacher in school, is a firm believer in the vedas etc. and he's come up with the concept of vedic maths. anyway he says that black is the symbol of decadence and he mourns the fact that it's becoming fashionable today. but all the clothes this guy wears are only white in colour, and he's painted his whole house white, so he may be a bit extreme.

personally i like purple the most, followed by dark blue, then black.

My favourite colour is red. To me, it represents anger, power, aggressiveness, and... well, sex.

My second favourite colour is black. It, as well, represents power and sex (:p). It also represents a very secretive and dark nature, and it brings out even more of the evil, wide side in me.

I also really like green. It reminds me of my Irish background and makes me feel proud. It's never made me think of money, which is what it's typically thought to represent.

They say that opposing colours go well together, but I hate green and red together. I don't even wear them both on Christmas. To me, silver, white, and red are Christmas colours, heeh.

Well, my favorite colors don't usually connect with what I wear. I wear roughly half the time black jeans, black shirt, black shoes, black hair (dyed), and black glasses. The other half of the time I wear vivid colors. Anything from pale blue jeans to dark blue jeans to khaki colored pants. Shirts are more colorful. I have a bright, bright yellow, orange, red, blue, green, white, etc. shirts with no writing on them. Plain and simple. I also tend to wear a lot of logo shirts when I wear black... ie my school's name, corvette stuff, beer stuff, navy stuff, etc.

Overall I'd say I love being dressed in all black, or in all blue. Especially a bright boyish blue. :)

that's shirt's a bloody good combination of vivid, bright colours. THAT'S the shirt i want.

I wear all different colours. I seem to have a lot of red shirts though, ans I have 2 red hoodies and a gey hoody(sp?) I also have white shirts with logos on the front that I wear under my uniform shirt at school, and after school, when I go out, I will wear a coloured shirt underneath, it has a weird effect. I wear blue jeans, and I will but a really nice black pair of jeans or a leather jacket when I have enough money, I am not sure wich leather jacket I want though....

I tend to wear little more than black t-shirts or long sleeved shirts or black hawaiineriffic shirts with darkish khakis. And I love it. Tell me that's not the perfect outfit. Aha! You cannot!

For me, it's black and grey/silver. Black is my most favorite color in the entire world, always has been and always will be. I like to wear black shirts with grey baggy sweats, or black shirt with silver chain link belt, with black flares. Or striped black and grey shirt. Anything black or grey is fine with me.

If it just must be anything else I wear navy blue. i like dark colors, and only wear them. Unless I'm forced to wear others.

If I am forced to wear others I do my "earth" rutine, meaning zI do blue jeans, green shirt and brown jacket. I have eyes that are green and brown, and brown hair, along with peach skin so I look "earthy". :)

yea. i've to wear a uniform. most schools in india require one. it's just a striped blue collar shirt with a blue pant. luckily we don't have to wear a tie or something, which happens in other schools.

Jerrek
04-21-03, 12:18 PM
Why, oh why would you want to wear a uniform to school? And a tie? Gee man, this isn't a formal business luncheon. http://home.cogeco.ca/~johannj/emotes/retard4.gif

my god....try and understand.

it's NOT MY CHOICE IF I'VE TO WEAR A UNFORM OR NOT. it's the RULE of the school. and i DON'T WEAR A TIE. i was saying that that's the rule of some other schools.

Can't you ignore the rule? What can they do? And why would they make such a rule in the first place? It is retarded.

in some schools in Europe it is also so
I would guess that the tradition to wear uniforms at schools in India comes from the British Empire times.

also all schools in Japan mostly require uniforms.
There are 2 schools in Latvia who require uniforms

and no- the rule can't be ingored and if it even was, you'd be the only kid among 1000 without a uniform- quite a pressure for the small ones

I suggest you to get over it and understand tha tin different parts of the world the traditions are different.

as for me- I would hate to wear a uniform

if you don't wear a uniform they'll let it go by probably on the 1st day. but if you do it again you'll be chucked out of the school. so....not wearing is not exactly a bright idea. avatar- you're right about it being handed down from the british though.

Can you like alter your uniform even a little? Like a button on it?

I would wear boxers everyday If I could.

In philly, public highschool kids now need to wear uniforms because they think it cuts down on crime. It's fairly silly. If you don't wear the uniform you have to go thru a metal detector, otherwise you don't.

i find that i am very receptive to colours. like i put blue in my room because like someone said it has a calming influence.
i don't really like stimulating colours. this may sound strange but after we changed our bathroom colour to yellow, i find it alot harder to go to the toilet.
i would advise people that want calming colours to choose either blue or green. do not choose a pure white, very stimulating.

i can never understand why hospitals and the like choose to paint the walls a pure white. they should do either greens or blues.

like in england there is a strange coincidence that the 3 best football teams all wear red. i believe there where studies on this, which i believe that for english type of football a stimulating colour is very important. you will find that the 3 best teams in england are all very agressive, which is good for the premiership, but it is not so good for europe. if i was advising a team to play in the champions league i would advise them to play in a dark shade of blue.

see if you lot can speculate why that is? maybe you should ask arsene wenger why a dark shade of blue is perfect for the champions league.

dark blue is the best colour for an english team to wear away from home. i remember seeing arsenal sometimes wearing this colour, and when they did it was like they just stroll through the games, you would think that there heartbeat was like they were asleep.

i surround myself in my favorite colors more than i wear them. for instance, i'm wearing brown khakis and a grey wife beater. but the blanket on my bed, my rug, and other decorations are red. the livingroom furniture, carpet and decore is blue.

btw, i love uniforms. i couldn't match my socks at 5:30 in the morning much less pick out something suitable to wear. not having to think about what i was going to wear to school was a godsend. plus it saves a ton of money. i've always kind of thought that if you need to use clothes to prove you are an individual, you're not.

sometimes you just want to say that you are an individual, not a mass production simplicity ;)

I wear a lot of different colours, and I've realized that in the past couple years I've started buying less of my favourite colours and wearing colours more suited to the seasons.

My favourite colour is red. It suits my personalityand my zodiac sign (leo). I just look good in red.

My second favourite colour is orange...and I think it follows the same lines.

My third favourite colour may soon overtake orange. It's green, and I think it represents mystery, nature, and sensuality. I think a dark green would look great with my colouring and probably make me look like a black irish girl. My skin is pale as death, my hair is black as night...I've got the freckles....

DEB-- you believe in the zodiac? astrology is the most fraudulent science i've come across. it's getting increasingly more pathetic. people are consulting their astrologer before buying a bike or car or something. load of pseudo spiritual crap.

I don't really believe in zodiac, but it's cool that I am a Leo, and the colours that they say are supposed to be good for me, look great on me. It's cool to say I'm a Leo. I mean, I'm a philosopher...of course I don't believe in it, or what kind of philosopher would I be? I don't read my horoscopes...I just like to see if people are actually the way that they are forecasted to be. But you know that the horoscopes and astrology in itself are so topic neutral that they apply to literally everyone.

Jerrek obviously you have never lived in India have you? Dude you get beaten with a 1 inch circumference wooden stick for wearing no uniform to school. The school i use to go to use to check if our nails were clean and cut...if not then ....*BAM*.... the PT teacher made a example out of you by slapping your 8 year old ass around in front of all the school. Even the students with moniter duties are allowed to slap other students around.

yea, but the rules have changed a bit actually. i mean teachers no longer cane you. they're not allowed to at least. when my bro was in school a few years back, he came 1 day with pink splashed all over his shirt... his pants a bit frayed, (i think something happened in the lab.) anyway my bro was in the 11th at that time and the PT guy wacked him with a cane even though he wasn't supposed to. my bro kicked the guy's ass and the school fired the PT guy. so.....it's become better.

I agree with both you and DEB. I happen to think it's interesting that people out there can characterize me correctly, but I find it ironic that I'm not even truly an Aries; the Egyptians, I think, were the ones who came up with Astrology, and they (or whomever it was) based it upon, basically, the position of the north star. Over time the location of it has changed, as so really, everyone should actually be the sign right before the one they think (for example, I'd be a Pisces instead of an Aries).

On the points of uniforms... as far as i understood it, the uniforms are there to hide social differences between the students. If your parents can (or will) not afford the latest fashionable clothing, you could be an easy target for bullying.

Personally, i think that the right of expressing your individuality outweighs the use of uniforms. Especially as kids would just as easily find another issue to pick on.

Back to the topic:
My favorite outfit is white shirts on black jeans. It does not reflect my personality in any way. It just fits nicely with sunglasses...

I always pretty much wear jeans and a tshirt. Even when the shirt is pretty ragged. No one bats an eye.

Personally, i think that the right of expressing your individuality outweighs the use of uniforms. Especially as kids would just as easily find another issue to pick on. Yessss, I agree.
