Over the years something got lost on sciforums. This loss seems to accelerate with time progressing. I propose we put a stop to this and concentrate on a simple mission statement for sciforums.

And to formulate this mission statement I would like to visit another thread:
    http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=67037

"Science is interesting and if you don't agree then fuck off"

Let us from now on use this as our mantra. Our golden rule. And let us bring back intelligence, witt, humour, and flamewars of gigantic proportions without reverting to common insults.

Let us wage war on the anti-scientific spirit that has pervaded sciforums! This doesn't mean we will become sterile like other science forums, because they follow the mission statement of "science is boring and if you don't agree we will ban you".

I have spoken. And I saw it was good.

So you propose getting rid of half the members and several of the sub-forums?

Sure, half these members chased 90% of interesting members away.

I like this. I know of at least one member off the top of my head that would get banned as a result of this motto.

beh didn't I hear that some moderators can block certain people of posting in certain sub-forums. You can always make a public visual forum that only a select few are allowed to post in therefore creating a special section in certain topics where the average IQ raises above 5, Possible?

But dimwits and retards are part of the human experience and this forum is the perfect park to study these specimens in their natural environments.

Where else can an IceAgeCivilizations be allowed to express his shallowness of thought, and Lightgigantic expand upon his selective reasoning about the “correct” epistemology from the “correct” authorities proving an absurdity.

Look at all the things I’ve learned.

I can no longer trust in the authority of my senses, supported and explained by a discipline using empirical methodology we call science, but I must trust in the “correct” authority of the “correct” epistemology proving the ontology of a phenomenon I have no sensual reason to believe in and written ages ago by questionable characters in a Book written in an ambiguous style that can then be interpreted in any which way.

Funny that God chose not to be direct with His declarations.

If I want to study “modern” man and the effects of equalitarianism and civilization upon the human mind, I need only come here.
Sure pigs stink, but if you don’t enclose them in cages so that you can study them how would you learn anything about them or how would you find ways to prevent yourself from stinking like they do?

This forum is a microcosm of the world around us.
We are surrounded by imbeciles and retards and so why would we seek to isolate ourselves from this reality?

Of course, as with what happens in the real world, stupidity distracts and draws underserved attentions upon its self.
It dominates out of sheep volume and exaggeration.

Learning to ignore or to mock is part of the deal.
