I'm not saying that all symbolic thought, intuitive thought, non-linear thinking, emotive motivations should be thrown out the window. And, a point of contention, I don't believe they were 'bastards'. I imagine that each of them were legitimate in their geneology. I could be mistaken on this as geneology is not my subject, especially geneology of the members of the Nicene Councils.
