What do you guys think about the latest delays?
Should the courts impose a lawyer upon milosevic; Who is currently defending himself.
What do you think of his 13 years in power, a time spanning three brutal wars.
and finally what do you think will be the end result of this labour intensive process by the icj?

Whenever you have a bastard like this in the dock, it's not the destination that matters, it's the journey. We can never make him pay: All we can do is put down for the record what happened, and that means having him in a condition to cooperate in answering the charges. If he will not, he will not.
What is certain, is that Milosevic will never wield power again, and history will be written with or without his cooperation. When it comes to crimes of his magnitude, there is no just retribution to be exacted.
Personally, I think these personalities can be safely returned to the street, as could Hitler, Saddam, or any other infamous individuals, once completely unhorsed from power (realizing this is not instantaneous). I would simply let them hide if they could, or face their countrymen whatever the result. Milosovic has reached the end of his career, and poses no threat to the world. I'll check back on this trial when it's history, because that's all it will contribute.

That makes sense, not even death could provide appropriate retribution. But they do not deserve freedom even if they could not regain power. Safe or not is not the issue.

Milosevic can never be free. He needs no prison to prove the obvious. Closure would be more complete if the "greatest" criminals of our times were left to the mercies of the lowliest persons they meet in the back alleys as they run. Let the lives of such men truly end in powerlessness: He is not safe from us, but we are safe from him, and were I a Judge with the latitude, I would rule accordingly: "Get out of my courthouse, you scum. Alone. Anyone who follows you out within the next 5 minutes will be charged with contempt, and fined $1. Run along, now."
The look on his face at that moment, and his end (if he didn't run out, then drop him off on any corner in Vukovar) would be a better deterrent (if there is any) to would-be monsters than our present convoluted customs.

Something like that. I just think that in the case of fully deposed formerly powerful assholes, things can resolve themselves more completely and expediciously by letting nature take its course- No pageantry is necessary or even fitting.
Milosevic seems to be getting a fair trial and that's what he deserves. If he's as guilty as he's made out to be then there should be no problem for the prosecution to get a conviction. He should be allowed to defend himself unless his misuses that right.
