I was having probs with my headset as the Mic was worning but no headphones. I could notfind an option for the headphones so I updated the sound driver and I now have the option in control panel.
However, I still can't use the headphones and now the Mic is playing up as well.
Any ideas how I can get the headphones working?
Cheers

1. make sure they work by plugging them ito something you know works.
2. turn up the volume on the phones.
3. turn up the volume on the PC at the task bar.
4. left click the icon and select adjust audio properties and go through each page correcting any errors.

There is a question in "How you are testing them?", "What are you intending to use them for?".
For instance I've had some problems trying to get MSN to communicate between myself and someone else with both Voice and Video. It seems to mostly be down to MSN's use of Ports and both ends having a Router with a Firewall configuration, as when I start up a conversation the errors are slightly different from the other end starting.
One problem that some older sound cards have is if they aren't Full Duplex, if they are only Half Duplex then you might find that you are stuck with something similar to how CB communications work when you have to 'Key' when talking (and shut the speaker off from potential feedback loops), Newer DirectX version to my knowledge don't support Half Duplex, however I'm not an authority on DirectX.
