Since males are prone to promiscuity, they understand it a lot better. They can separate love and sex or so they say. Actually, they like to do that. So why do men get upset when their girlfriends cheat or move onto other males? I thought they didn't consider sentimental attachments as sacred and/or consider them provisional. It probably has to do with the plethora of double standards associated with dating. By your own proclamation above, men have that capability and women don't, so naturally men are going to get angry that their woman, who isn't supposed be capable of doing something like that, does that. Yes I can separate love and sex but I'm the type that won't cheat if I'm in a commmitted relationship. Believe it or not, peta, lots of men don't and won't cheat on their women. *GASP!* Double standards, peta. Kinda like this double standard that whenever a couple breaks up, according to the girl, it's always the guy's fault; regardless of any low-life shit the girl could have done. She could have cheated on the guy with his best friend, but yet she would still say it's the guy's fault because he didn't pay enough attention to her or whatever. :
When their girlfriends are only using the men for their money then use other men for money as well not for love or meaningful relationships. There's also the little problem of what diseases she might have picked up along the way, same as with men. When men PAY for a womans wants and needs then find them with someone else doing the same thing men tend to get very annoyed.
That's why I never give money or buy stuff. Friendships should be about people not material goods. Only to the best friends I sometimes loan money.
Like what Mikenostic said, the double standard thing. Like when guys mosh at metal concerts, that's normal, when a girl does it, she's either a hyper-androgenized mutant or a 'rabid feminist' who hates men because she secretly wants to be like them.

Has anyone considered that it may be a natural drive in men to spread their genes around.The more females impregnated the better the chance of the male's genes surviving. Women can have one child every nine months or so, during which time a male could theoretically impregnate dozens of females. Possessivness can be explained in terms of depriving rivals of the opportunity of impregnating one's females. Watch how lots of other animals behave and you will see the principle I have described at work. Not very romantic but that's how it sems to be
