I can only see sequences of melatonin receptors on pubmed.

thank u.. how to interpret it.. what cud be the possible reason why its not found yet.. is that like a cluster of genes which synthesizes melatonin or????

There is no gene for melatonin because it is not a protein.

Melatonin is produced from a precursor (tryptophan) by the enzyme 5-hydroxyindole-O-methyltransferase (for which there will be a gene).
