Well, it wouldn't be THAT far off, since it says in the Bible that, as lightning is seen from each horizon so will the return of christ be. As Mel Gibson is a Christian he should know those things, however we don't know how those things will unfold. No one can say that Mel Gibson isn't to become the christ (but it's a very vague notion). As Christ knew that He was Gods Son, so will He know that He is Christ when He return, I doubt that Mel Gibson know that. But it's also only speculations that Mel Gibson would think himself as Jesus. A Christian stand is to strive to be Christ-like. To be in the likeness of Him and to follow His examples. If Mel Gibson for that reason (or for whatever other reason he may have) has decided to grow beard, then I can only encourage him.
