How do you think it will affect the McCain campaign that rumors are going around that he was brainwashed by the VC into a communist ideology? I know he seems to have managed to fool many Americans so far into thinking he believes in Democracy and Capitalism, but will he use his power to strengthen China and Communist Vietnam, like he was instructed to do by his shadowy masters? Was he really shot down or did he ditch his plane, intentionally destroying a tool of the oppressors, so he could join the glorious revolution? I think these questions should be a matter of public dialogue, I'm not saying they are true, but it is disturbing.

Good job on completely ignoring number two where I point out that there are people out there who do in fact think this way and are that ridiculous, which is why I'm never sure with these threads unless I've paid attention to the poster's history. I suppose if I were defending a liberal instead, you'd replace my "lack of sense of humor" with integrity and honesty? I hate these kinds of allegations (and for McCain this is a real one), irregardless of the political affiliation of whoever is being targeted.

Very funny. But there's a big difference between your satirical post and the one you're making fun of. It's illustrated here:
I work in a blue collar profession, and one of my co-workers told another that Obama was a Muslim. I really had to bite my tongue, and I tried to ignore the rest of the conversation. My co-worker is an ok guy, good at his job, and he seems relatively intelligent. But he's obviously not too educated (it's apparent from his vocabulary) and I don't think there is anything I could have said that would have changed his mind. I've tried talking about politics at work at other jobs, and it is hopeless. It was one of those times where I wish others wouldn't either.
The perception that Obama is some kind of undercover Muslim is a very real factor in this election. I also have heard plenty of people, many of them Democrats, make the type of statement Repo describes.

Now if you wanted to discuss serious concerns/rumors about McCain it would be about his temper. There are many reported episodes of him going off on people, and many do wonder if this is legacy of his time as a POW.

But Obama has already stated that he won't pull the trooops out of Iraq until there is peace there. That makes him as cozy to the military as McCain.
