Do you feel that Society has raised us (especially men) into thinking that women are materialistic and are nothing more than objects of desire and "satisfaction"? Opinions please.

From the inception of civilizaton women have always been materialistic, from Cleopatra to Marilyn Monroe. It is genetically wired in the females specie that security is very important. A female dog in the wild will only flirt with the stongest male and can travel hundreds of miles to find a safe cave for her unborn litter. Women love security and in the human world money is sort of like that. Apart from the materialism that stems from security women simply like anything that makes them more visible, and to be visible calls for presentation or beautifiation, thus the diamonds, shoes, rings and my personal favorite necklace. Just count all the stuff in an average womans purse compared to five men combined and make your judgement. Women will always be objects of desire regardless of what the media says. Women were treated much worse in earlier centuries and not until about the Medieval age did men give them a little more dues. Men today treat women just right; the way they want to be treated. Many women in America will do anything for exposure or a place in the popular playboy magazine. The biggest misconception is that men think women do not know what they are doing.

Women are genetically driven towards wealth, power etc whilst they're still young and beautiful, as a means to secure their futures when they become pug-ugly, and their menfolk MUST continue to provide for them because they've now become mothers.

I say driven towards wealth, but only in the easy sense of marrying into it, not actually generating it.

Women are objectified because that is the natural order of things - stray from that, and you find yourself with broken marriages, and broken families. Women are happiest when they have gotten any kind of commitment from he-who-wins-the-bread, because they don't have the drive, the brains or the threshold of pain to make the sacrifices necessary to match male earning power. Easier to get a man to struggle and fight to put Cartier on her neck than for her to save up for years on her Typist salary.

We shouldn't hate women for being what they are, no more than we should hate pigs because they love to roll around in their own shit. Women have no choice but to follow their innate drives to bag a good provider before they are too old and hideous to do so.

As for society, and I'm presuming we're speaking here of western society, it has successfully pussified men into believing women are their equals and deserve equality. The former is clearly untrue, and by extension so must the latter be. The sooner men realise that women want material security FIRST from their men, that 'love' is simply a guarantor of that, and that everything else for them comes distant second, the more advantageously they'll be able to play their cards in the dating/marriage game.

I don't think they are "objects" of desire. They are humans in need of companionship that can give them security and love that will enjoy life with.

Women are not victims here, nor are they subject to negative conditioning. Its a behaviour that works well to display fertility or whatever sort of attire to dazzle the opposite sex. I am guilty of this as well.
