Mars Express (the first european interplanetary space probe, carrying the first european planetary lander, Beagle 2) is launching from Baikonur today at 1845 our time (BST). Following on from the NASA example of streaming video coverage of the shuttle launches (as well as many other things done in the program), the ESA is streaming the launch video live from here: http://esa.capcave.com/esa/marsexpress/ Enjoy....

i find it very intresting how they plan to deploy the little bugger. Bombs Away http://www.esa.int/export/SPECIALS/Mars_Express/SEMNS75V9ED_0.html http://www.esa.int/export/esaCP/SEMAAKS1VED_index_0.html it also funny how there is a slight difference in the days of the beagle 2's deployment
If all goes well there is going to be a lot of chatter coming back from mars in December and January. We got Mars Experss on it way, we got the Athena Rovers to be launch in just a few days and the Japanese probe Nozomi should arrive in December (finally!) Here is a site I go to keep tabs on these probes http://spacescience.nasa.gov/missions/
I have a policy of staying far away from anything RealMedia, i want the #$#@.RAM format to DIE because they had this policy of keeping their sources and encoder closed!!! Too bad I couldn't see it, but I couldn't bring myself to download the realplayer. Go VORBIS GO!!! (sorry , the fanboy got the best of me for a minute)
i think you missed the point Vortexx was making, and i think he proberly knows how to get it if needed Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
i'm at work and am unable to dl realplayer - even if i could i wouldn't because rm screws up everything and takes over everything and its nowhere as good as wmp. only reason for rm is for the money and nothing else matters. can anyone tell me why they would encode in rm??? there has to be a good reason for doing so or is it just ignorance?? andy
At the risk of an on-topic post, beagle's launch clamps worked correctly. Yay! http://sci.esa.int/content/news/index.cfm?aid=9&cid=32&oid=32396
yeah, so now we have to wait 6 month before the next event when it reaches mars. That will proberly be more televised then the launch
