Our vacationer-in-chief is off again on the longest vacation ever. Bullshit that it is a "working vacation" - he never works. Meanwhile in a hellhole of a country that Bush lied his ass off to get us into an invasion and never-ending war, 24 Marines lost their lives for nothing, for Bush's lies. He has their blood on his hands. Any President with a spine or a conscience would fly to Ohio tonight to comfort these poor families. He won't do it because he is a gutless, spineless, lying shit who can't and won't admit this war was a mistake based on contrived lies. My heart breaks for the families of these young people and for all of the over 1,800 who have died. Have a great vacation, Chimpy. How do you sleep at night?
In any truely major war in history, you would expect to lose hundreds or thousands of soldier in a single battle. I weep for the deaths of those soldiers and I wish a pound of flesh extracted from each of the insurgents responsible but 24 men is essentially nothing in wartime. You can't fight a war, any war, without death on both sides and lots of it. Technically, a president is never on vacation. The first thing he hears in the morning and the last thing he hears at night will be a full briefing of whats going on. When his decision or thoughts are needed on anything he will be there. He will be in communication with his cabinet members as they work on dozens of projects for him day in and day out. He does not have the option of going incommunicato. A president is always working. And if he went to meet with the families of the dead, and however real, it would be seen only as a political ploy and would offer no solice to anyone.

We took Saddam and the entire Baathist party out of the equation in very little time. Not bad for a first step. Now we set up the democratic process and got it rolling. Not bad for a second step. Number three, strengthening the whole thing so that it can stand on its own is proceeding at a slightly jerky pace but it is indeed moving along. I don't see a quagmire. The road has bumps but there is still a road. Oh, and I will forgive you for being so paralized by the thought of getting hurt or hurting someone else that you won't leave your own house.
I'm optimistic that Iraq will turn out ok. I'm optimistic because I think the Muslims will grow weary of war and begin to want modern stuff. I think human greed may well win win out. Just not in the near future. And then, wasn't this what the French said in Vietnam, and what we said in 'Nam? And this isn't a conventional war, by any means. For every scandal of prisoner torture, the enemy gains more recruits. And the enemy has nothing to lose using unconventional tactics and targeting civilians. They're covered by Allah Insurance. The West has everything to lose by retaliating in same. So unless we but out some super heavy air campaigns, we'll be in the Middle East for a while yet.

There is no "real" quagmire. It's just a lie spewed out by democrats to make the presidents war look worse than it really is. However, I clearly remember being told that Iraq was an imminent threat and needed to be disarmed of it's WMD's. The fact is that the Bush administration knew that there weren't WMD's and still said there were. The fact is that they knew it would take longer than 6 weeks and they said it was going to take 6 weeks. They were told that there were no WMD's so they did what republicans do best kept lying and deceiving the american public. Then instead of complimenting Joe Wilson for getting the truth out "THEY OUTED IS WIFE FROM THE CIA. That must be their way of thanking someone. And for the person who OUTED Valerie Plame he got punished. By getting a raise.
How could Bush know that there wasn't a WMD program in Iraq? Saddam didn't know there wasn't a WMD program in Iraq and he ran the freaking country. But thats a different arguement all together.

He had inspectors in Iraq; He had Joseph Wilson conclude that their weren't WMD's; And also other countries for the most part were saying there weren't any. I'm saying there still could've been WMD's but without solid evidence???? Com'on since when do we invade countries on unknown information
