I've been talking to my friends a lot about it recently. Some say it's not bad at all, because when you inhale the THC, you exhale all of it. ( I don't know if that's true or not). There still is tar-build up in your lungs, is it more or less than smoking cigarettes? I know it has numerous medical benefits, and is good when you are depressed. So does the good out way the bad?
There is tar, which can cause cancer, but the THC isn't that bad for you. You can cook it into brownies, or use a vaporizer, which is healthier. The THC does go into your bloodstream, which is what makes you high.
If that were true, you wouldn't get high. Your lungs aren't designed to inhale smoke. Any smoke is "bad" for you. It's merely a question of degree. I'm sure you do more harmful things every day without realizing it.
yes, for the simple reason that nicotine (and a host of other added chemicals in cigarettes) are physically addictive, and marijuana is not.
Most people are biased toward maryjane. In moderation there isnt a thing wrong with or going to happen to your health smoking it. The US has dumped billions of dollars fighting it and it is a total waste of money that should be going somewhere useful.Even with all the taxpayers money being spent fighting maryjane, you can get it just as easily today as 25 yrs ago. Millions of dollars are spent keeping people locked up for maryjane related offenses.More wasted dollars. Its time to grow up.
Overall I would say it is less dangerous than TV which is 1) the ultimate gateway drug 2) training for later brainwashing by the media
It's fine if you want to become sterile, impotent, dopey, braindead, fat, lazy, lethargic, depressed, and stupid. And get lung cancer, psychosis, hallucinations, delusions, loss of self-identification, arrested, memory loss, addiction, in a car accident, breathing difficulties, fast heart/blood/breathing rate, faster aging, heart attack, stroke, bored and likely to advance to worse drugs..... http://www.marijuana-addiction.net/marijuana-side-effects.htm
All possible outcomes of habitual alcohol consumption. Fast food consumption can bring on a large portion of your list. See documentary: supersize me.
How about driving? If you take public transportation you are much less likely to die, become paralyzed, require surgery, break bones, go into a coma, have your face cut up with glass, etc.
Interesting. The automobile addict would have been my first response to that list of side-effects: All of the bolded are quite common side-effects of the habitual driver. Fat, lazy, lethargic--well, that's pretty obvious. Dopey, braindead--and how would one describe those who feel inclined to talk on the phone, play with the stereo, eat, apply makeup, etc. while operating a massive deadly weapon? Lung cancer--ah yes, my cigarette is quite a match for those 30,000 cigarettes emitted for every one mile a person drives. Loss of self-identification--those motorists are an individualistic bunch. Arrested--not if you get away with running someone down, I suppose. Breathing difficulties, fast heart/blood/breathing rate, faster aging, heart attack, stroke--all this tends to happen to the fat and lazy. I wouldn't have much of an issue with it if they were only harming themselves; unfortunately, I've got to breathe the same air, risk getting run down by some inattentive idiot in a car while biking or walking, and I have to deal with the fat, lazy, stupid people in any number of contexts.
DID YOU KNOW: Awhile back the FEDERAL government started a program for FEDERAL employees to get marijauana. There were only a handlful to begin with, and they soon closed the program...allowing no new patients under it. The 4 people get marijuana grown by, paid for, and delivered to them by the U.S. Federal Government. There are THOUSANDS of medical marijauan patients/prescriptions that are issued at the STATE level. California, Michigan, Colorado...etc...they have many many people who are prescribed marijauana but it's on the STATE level. That guy could move anywhere in the country....to any state...and the federal government would still supply him. He is LEGALLY allowed to smoke a joint in public...anywhere...even right in front of the whitehouse. People who are prescribed by their state (which has chosen to legalize for medicinal purposes) are NOT allowed to smoke in public, etc. Those four people have complete pot law immunity (They are not allowed to grown their own however). MY OPINION: Also, the problem that the feds have had with Marijuana isn't that it's dangerous or unhealthy or addictive or anything. It has been convenient for them for it to be illegal. In the 60s, the overwhelming majority of the young people against the war used marijuana. If the government couldn't lock you up for being opposed to the war, they'd lock you up for pot. Before that, it threatened numerous pre-existing industries like paper. Now, it's illegal because there are massive amounts of people who get payed to put pot-users in jail. It's illegal because of the prison industry. It's illegal because of the pharmaceutical industry. It's illegal because they refuse to man up to the fact that they have bullshitted us about pot and thrown millions of us in prison to waste years of our lives away for almost a century, and they are making far too much money to ever want to change that.
I never did drugs but I saw people who started by Marijuana and ended addicted to stronger stuff . Drugs scared me to death because I saw what they did to people .
World's best prescription drug that sold $14.3 Billion in 2006 has the following adverse reactions. * Headache is the most common side effect, occurring in more than 10% of patients. * Weakness * Insomnia and dizziness. * Chest pain and peripheral edema. * Rash * Abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea. * Urinary tract infection * Arthralgia, myalgia, back pain, arthritis * Sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, rhinitis * Infection, flu-like syndrome, allergic reaction.
Even if that's true, doesn't being cooped up in a small space with a bunch of strangers greatly increase your risk of contracting some communicable disease such as Swine flu, TB, or whatnot? And doesn't standing around at deserted public transit outposts during off hours increase your risk of becoming a victim of violent crime? Not to mention the bad smells, dirt, graffiti, and general dismal atmosphere present in most public transit facilities?
