Shame, I was looking forward to playing it. Strange since there are loads of games that offer realistic murder, namely the Hitman games.
Who agrees with the BBFC on this (difficult to say since none of us have played the game)?

    I have the original.

It is a fairly violent game, but no worse than what you see in films.

The first one just bored me to death -

Wander around -> maul person -> wander around some more -> maul more people.

Rockstar will appeal. The BBFC have banned exactly one game before, that was Carmageddon.

The BBFC gives review-quality quotes. It would be pretty funny if Rockstar put it on the box along with quotes from magazines and IGN once they overturn the ban.

It's clear the BBFC are worried about kids playing this game, but surely that's not the fault of all the people that have spent time and money making a game for adults?!?!
Jack Thompson must be jumping for joy.

nietzche played the first one, I watched him.....I tried to play a bit
but i suck at games. (not enough interest)
It was pretty violent indeed....suffocating ppl with a plastic bag.
Shooting someone on the toilet, with a staple gun between the eyes,

My 10 yr old wanted to play......I was like you touch this game (we put it away) you are in BIGGGGG Trouble.

It's the parents responsibilty to decide what their kids can play or not.

Not that I'd ever play the game but this whole 'people copying what they see in video games' is bull.
It's been banned because of its possible influence, it's not going to be any more influential than watching movies like saw. I can't stand the way parents complain about this crap and blame it for peoples actions, like rap music and the like, and now they're caving in to this bull? If it's that influential then why aren't other games along the same vein?
I hope the appeal works or the gaming world is fast going to become boring, followed by movies and music. It'll all be restricted to nothing worse than petting dogs and asking how people are feeling.

How many people were influenced by pacman? We'd all be running around a darkened room swallowing pills and listening to repetitive music......

Kind of silly where someone else has to deny everyone access to a videogame, if you dont want your kids playing it then dont let them, and if you are old enough to make your own choices then who are we to say dont play manhunt
