Did you read the entire article in Urban Legends? They thought this was a crock.

1. Different photos of different snakes show up in various versions of the story.
2. Any of them could be easily staged with a dead snake.
3. The versions of the stories are all different: location, circumstances, identity of victim.
4. This was only published in a tabloid. The legitimate news media don't care much about aliens and two-headed babies, but they LOVE death. The more unusual the better. The more it plays into our primeval fears, such as snakes, the better. Why wasn't this on TV? They would have paid a fortune for the story.

As the website concludes, there are plenty of documented cases of large snakes killing people. But not EATING them. That's not to say that it's never happened. But nobody has ever gotten a photo of it.

Well. If the photo was staged, then the kid crawling into the snake's gut was pretty damned... gutsy.
That'd be sick as hell. Foul.
Makes a good picture though.
My bet is that it is faked.

I came across the photos first then went through the links to find the original story. I think the first story is accurate and the photos correspond with it (June 2006). If you backtrack on that Urban Legend website you can really find some bizaare stories but I just don't have time to go through it right now.
