    Depends on what you want to do with the system. I would say Microsoft for games and Linux for the rest, at least if you want a stable and reliable system.

    I do not know about Mac OS since I have never used one.

    how could anyone ever say anything but Mac Os? I have used microsoft and it's SHITE! The only pro's are more games, but you can get all the same ones for mac anyway, just they're more expensive (because Mac's are much better quality). MACINTOSH RULES FOREVER! *thinks of own Mac at home and is disgusted by filthy Microsoft computer is forced to use while at school*

    Mac OSX is great operating system which is built on a Unix core so you get all the user-friendlines of Mac on top of the stability of Unix. Mac OSX is also 100% virus free.

    on mac the programs are very expensive and hard to finds pirated versions
    I suggest a Linux distro.
    it's free, there is loads of software, it looks pretty (KDE desktop env. for instance) and it has all the unix horsepower

    besides you can run it on a pc, so you can later make a dual or single boot to Windows if needed

    Since I can't run an Apple OS on my PC, I really have no opinion on them. If they were to produce a version that would run on PCs, I'd be interested in trying it.

    I have no interest in purchasing a prebuilt computer. Ever.

    Personally I prefer Mac OS X. But I still use my x86 w/ Windows XP to play games. However, in my opinion, threads like this are dead ends. Discussing what OS is best is like discussing what color is the prettiest. It's all subjective.

    it is more important for what puprose it will be mainly used
