I just bought a new Compac computer. It comes with MS works.

I am trying to open some MS word and MS excel files. MS works is refusing to open the files. Will MS works open MS office word and excel files? How do I do it????

To buy MS Office will cost me around $400. I hope there is some way to open MS office and excel files with works.
