View Full Version : M Weis, Star of the G fans.... am i the only one? My Sexy Blue Feet 05-29-04, 05:13 AM hey, just wondering, who else has read Star of the Guardians series by Margaret Weis? Or Dark Heart? The lost king? ect If so, penny for your thoughts? msbf invert_nexus 05-29-04, 05:31 AM Is Star of the Guardians a scifi book? Don't think I've read that one. I remember years ago after the Darksword trilogy, she was writing a book about djinn and genies. I think I only read the bonus chapter of it at the end of Darksword. Dark Heart? The one about Kitiara? Part of the... what was the name of the series...? I got them all in the other room. Well, you know the ones. :) That was ok, I prefered the Raistlin book more. He was always my favorite. Never heard of the lost king. Is it a Krynn book or something on it's own? The best Weiss and Hickman books were the Death Gate Cycle. Those books kicked ass. I loved the appendices at the end of the books, explaining the esoteric functioning of the different kinds of technology and magic. My Sexy Blue Feet 05-30-04, 04:42 AM Yep, it's a sci fi book. Its not a dragonlance/darksword one, totally different. Dark Heart is a dragon one, with Justiniuon in it. I've seen the kitiara on, different series. Dark heart is part of the dragon's desciples series, but the only other book in the series in Testament of the dragon, if memory serves correctly. She wrote it with her son David Baldwin, but he died a few years back, and she told me that she had decided not to continue the series cause it was his series. Star of the Guardians is a totally different series as well, it's an older one. there's four books, The lost king, The kings test, the king's sacrifice and The ghost legion. They would be the best books i've EVER read. There's a parrallel series Mag X 7 or something. Not bad either. That's co-authored, can't remember with who. The only book of darksword i've read was the raisklin one, it was good. |
