I've just been listening to his latest album, Holywood, and I must say as a songwriter he has out done himself. Its a metaphorical masterpeice.
If you don't know, the Holywood is the top of the popularity tree and how everyone is trying to climb it.
Has anyone heard this album yet (its getting kinda old)?

Also, I don't see why people have penned him down as Evil. He isn't. Just misunderstood.

Total BS. His songs talk about how much this world sucks and how much control governments have on us today.

Religous groups hate him. So what. He's done nothing (nearly) to them. He is merely speaking his mind. When did free speech become a crime. If people want to listen to him, let them.

    Any views would be appreciated.

At first when I saw/heard of him I thought he was annoying, just another pop star raking in money from angsty teenagers. I thought maybe he even believed his own image and thought he was all spooky and such, which I really didn't like. Then I heard him in an interview, and got the impression that he was quite happy to carry on that image if people threw money at him, which is understandable I guess. Now, well, I even see some small value in that foul-mouthed little git Eminem. Artists, even bad ones, serve a purpose. If they say something about the government or society, for example, even if it's a pretty stupid comment, it serves a purpose if it at least gets people thinking about such things.

    Bam

You hit it on the nail. Thats exactly what I think, moreso about the Enimen bit, I hate him so much. I personally don't like M.Manson, I like his music and what he has to say.

    An item of interest.

MM wanted into the music industry to make money. He researched who were the most successful groups & what made them successful over the last 30 years , and realised that all of the most successful ones had "images" or shock value of some description... eg KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper etc.

Thus was Marilyn born. All of you who think otherwise? He's in it for the cash, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!

Writing music for teenagers is like shooting fish in a barrel... suckers.
