I think this has been brought up before, but I can't find it.
When a thread gets locked can a reason be given? A thread I was interested in (http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=75103) was locked and I have no idea why. How does a person stop making a mistake if they don't know what the mistake they are making is?
And what is the criteria for cesspooling vs locking?

hello???
I'd be happy with a PM as to why it was closed instead of cesspooled.

Apparently there is a 50-50 chance of a useless thread becoming locked or being thrown in the cesspool. I guess it depends solely on the moderator.

I am guessing here but....I think that if a thread starts going way off topic and there is nothing but joking around and alot of crap being thrown around they just cesspool it.

pretty much, yea. if its a really good topic which has just been ruined by a few however we will normally endeavour to clean it up by removing off topic posts and reminding those members not to derail it.

sderenzi (AKA DarksidZz) was warned before regarding useless polls he make every day.
Then he left. Then he got back. And he started to post common posts.
And then he started to post useless polls again.
So, every poll he made (there are exceptions of course) will be locked without warning.
Shorty, mate.... that is one of the prob's concerning ADD. We don't ALWAYS follow the same accord as those who don't have ADD.
