View Full Version : Linux: KDE 3.3 Officially Released goofyfish 08-19-04, 05:23 PM For those that might be interested: http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-3.3.php :m: Peace. Avatar 08-19-04, 05:37 PM those that are interested already know it ;) :p Avatar 08-21-04, 08:21 AM For those who want to install the new KDE, the easyest way is to download a kde.org konstruct that shall do it for you. lookety here -> http://developer.kde.org/build/konstruct/ "Konstruct" is a build system which helps you to install KDE releases and applications on your system. It downloads defined source tarballs, checks their integrity, decompresses, patches, configures, builds and installs them. A complete KDE installation should be as easy as "cd meta/kde;make install". By default "Konstruct" installs to your home directory which means you don't have to possess root privileges or risk to damage your system or affect another KDE. -DOWNLOAD- (http://developer.kde.org/build/konstruct/stable/konstruct-stable.tar.bz2) Apeitheo 08-22-04, 08:31 PM I much prefer raw Window Managers over Desktop Environments..such as Enlightenment..equal eye candy for less memory :p Although I do have to admit, KDE has pretty nice desktop integration. Avatar 08-22-04, 08:46 PM Fluxbox is great! But I like KDE when I don't have to do anything that takes much resources (like gaming :D or running vmware ) |
