hi everyone.
this is my first post, and i need help. Im 15 and building myself a wimhurst machine but, i dont have enough money to buy the two leyden jars. i would like to know if anyone could help me make 2 good leyden jars that hold seperate charges. i need them to be able to last a while and send a good jolt to you. I've used a wimhurst in science class this year and i thought it was the coolest thing ever and now i'm trying to build one. I would really appreciate help on how to build a couple easilly.

would i have to change anything if i wanted the jar to hold just a positive or just a negative charge like needed for a wimhurst machine?

Most commonly theyre glass jam jars, lined inside and out with ali foil.
They will hold whatever polarity of charge you put onto them.
It is entirely possible to kil yourself with one, so use a bit of care.
