No they were/are not perfect. but understand clearly, the Indigenous mindset is very different than te patriarchal mindset which divides 'spirit'/mind fron Nature, which is what you are a part of in this culture to.

The real problem is that the enviromentalist movement has been hijacked by eco-luddites who think humanity and technology is the root of all evil and by eco-mystics and thier hijacking of James Lovelock's ideas and turning then into an earth-mother worship (which is why many scientists now days use the term "earth systems science" instead of "Gaia theory," the eco-mystics hijacked the latter term for thier BS). The enviromentalist movement has become infested with idealistic college students and naive suburbanites who know jack about ecology, biogeochemistry, nuclear enegy, etc., and these types of people tend towards idealistic forms of left-wing thought.
