No...At least I'm not...If I want to know if someone has posted in a thread I have posted in, I subscribe to that thread.

Since I started subscribing to threads, I don't do the e-mail bit anymore...

But, back when I used to, I had the same problem as you are having..

E-mail could take 2 mins, or a couple of days..That's why I stopped doing it that way.

    Not really, no..

When I log on, I click the quick links button, then subscribed threads, it tells me the status of all threads I am subscibed to, including name of last poster.. As long as I am on, I just keep track of the threads manually..

I think it's a lot better, than counting on snail-mail..

The forums software usually attempts to "Queue" such emails, they wait until a CRON job is triggered, since the forums software doesn't actually use CRON, it uses a poor mans version triggered by 1x1 transparent pixel usually loaded by anyone that views the board. (Every time the pixels loaded it gets the new time and check whether a job needs to be run or not)

It's possible that there wasn't enough people subscribing to active threads to get the queue to be execute for delivery, there are also other potentials too. Like anti-spam lists might slow up email delivery, perhaps a spam bin has been eating them etc.

As for late "e-males", I wouldn't know about them. For one I'm hetrosexual and for two I don't think I would order a 'person' through online. It might be like ebay and you end up getting something that you didn't bargain for.

Sciforums *likely* accepts no responsibility for your PM box being brimmed full of special request for eager excentric nerds and geeks still stuck in their mums basement.

(I'm not querying [Wouldn't be right utilising the forum for hitting on the ladies], I'm not living with my mum and I'm not in a basement before someone twists that.)
