I recently returned from my first visit to Sin City (Las Vegas). Although it is very flashy and appears to be a 24-7 party, I still prefer Reno.

Las Vegas is too expensive to enjoy. :bugeye:

Go there for gambling and strip shows?

No money no talk.

Just for sight-seeing is ok.

I found that there wasn't much that a person could do without spending too much money. I took my kid to an Arcade and he spent $30.00 within the two hours we were there. It cost me $18.00 dollars for my family and I to ride the shuttle from the airport to the Monte Carlo. A person can't eat in a restraunt there for less than $10.00. Every table bet on the strip (Las Vegas Blvd) that I saw had a minimum of $5.00.

Dude. Leave your kid at a caretaker's home. That is your first mistake :D

But the kids had a great time while we were there, and it was less exspensive than Disney World.

Go there and admire the...... archetecture :p

I recently learned the ancient roman city of Pompeii was even more perverted than Vegas. They have lord knows how many brothels and an art fresco of a penis with wings. Quite an accomplisment.

I love Vegas. Been there twice and was having withdrawals earlier this summer. It's not so bad. Of course it's not cheap but you can get by without having to spend a billion dollars.

Eat buffet downtown for under or around $10. It's seafood so enjoy it all you can. You can take the bus anywhere in the city I think for $2. So going from one side of town to the other and back is $4. Yeah tables are $5 min but when you can't win big if you don't play big. Play Pai Gow you usually end up tie-ing with the dealer so you can play longer without losing or gaining money. Milk the free drinks and cigarettes while playing if you smoke or drink. And of course, sightseeing is always free :)
