I have a Vaio laptop with cd burner which has been working fine until the last week, where when I have tried to burn any type of cd, everything appears fine - but there is no information on the disc. I have tried refreshing and re-inserting the discs - but nothing?

I have been using CD Drag N Drop and just installed Nero but the same thing has happened - why could this be?

You probably have it in simulation mode. It simulates a burn but doesnt actually turn on the laser. That's probably your problem.

you need to burn it slower, most CDs labelled as 56x are only actually 40x, i burn mine at 24x just to be safe

I had the same problem with my CD burner on my laptop. The burner is a Sony too. There was something wrong with the default software. Just download a good build of Nero to burn CDs and then it should work.
