View Full Version : Kyoto Protocol Officially Dead... Eluminate 03-07-04, 04:40 AM http://www.inopressa.ru/sueddeutsche/2004/03/05/13:26:13/rossia if you can read russian or german go ahead check it out its a nice article... Kunax 03-07-04, 07:07 AM hmm i like the font, it looks like everything is caps, but its not, anyway where is the german version certified psycho 03-07-04, 11:17 AM for those who don't read or speak Russian, can you please tell us what it means. Eluminate 03-07-04, 01:43 PM kunax click the sueddeutch link on the russian site it sends you to the original from which the story was taken its in german. Eluminate 03-07-04, 01:47 PM Basicly the article says that Russia finally said that the kyoto treaty is totally bs and will not be ratified now or anytime in the future because it will most probably harm the Russian ecconomy rather then give billions in profits that the eu said it would make from selling excess co2 capacity to other countries. There reason is fairly simple the data on which the current co2 outflow from Russia is not accurate and is completely misstated and its more likely that its barely within the co2 permits the kyoto has in it and most likely will cross over them within a year or two. Kunax 03-07-04, 03:50 PM http://www.sueddeutsche.de/ausland/artikel/860/22838/ This is the german version, i think. It's a bit hard when you dont know the Russian version :) Stokes Pennwalt 03-08-04, 02:19 PM http://www.nzherald.co.nz/latestnewsstory.cfm?storyID=3553046&thesection=business&thesubsection=latest http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,8837566%255E31478,00.html Good work, Russia. Kyoto was a worthless document from inception, designed to address a poorly understood problem using utterly ineffective measures to do so. Undecided 03-08-04, 02:51 PM From what I read from the article (initial) is that the country did not officially revoke from the Kyoto protocol just yet. (I would read page 3) What it was saying was that the data in which the UN is dated and not relevant, so no the Protocol is not dead just yet. Until we hear an official declaration from the Kremlin Kyoto lives, and the only official position I see from Moscow is this: http://english.pravda.ru/main/2003/01/20/42258.html The science of Kyoto deserves to be in another forum… immane1 03-08-04, 06:27 PM Last I checked, the Japanese never signed/agreed to the Kyoto Protocol. The Kyoto deserves to die. It was a good sentiment, but too unrealistic. Eluminate 03-08-04, 09:54 PM no it should be in this forum cause its a current event article... immane1 i totally agree with you also there is great link on the site you gave undicided its called, "kyoto protocol is not worth a thing" its right below the article you linked to lol |
