Now it has been pointed out to me, I don't claim to be the originator of the thought, it seems blindingly obvious that the Round Table in the above mentioned story refers to non other than the Zodiac. Yea or Nay?

The story I refer to is King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The concensus seems to be that it was a very old tale handed down by word of mouth until books began to be written around the twelfth century. Maybe they were the first novels!, taken from an old legend, the origin of which appeared unknown. Maybe, also, someone long ago realised that supposed facts get forgotten, but not a good story.

My understanding of the round table being introduced was so that no knight would feel inferior to the other by looking to a table 'head'. It was meant instead to induce a feeling of brotherhood and cameradery while ensuring equanimity.

That is certainly a wonderful modern moral analogy to be drawn from the novels. Modern, of course, anywhere from the twelfth century onwards. As a 'recovering Christian', however, I am sure you are aware that some people can produce an analogy using a fencepost, but that post was there before the analogy was drawn.
This tale is in a country covered in ancient henges, megaliths and tumuli etc. which have been vaguely related to various fixed astronomical points. Since evidence is now emerging that they are, in fact, aligned with very precise astronomical points, and indeed that all of them are related to that astronomy, it seems to me that the main mythical tale from the mists of time may well have some relation to what appears to have been a major preoccupation of the population in those days.
