View Full Version : Keeping in touch after the forums go down

This should be in "About the Members" but this particular subforum gets more traffic.

So, leave an email address if you want others to keep in touch with you, in case we lose Sci.

Yeah. TheScienceForum isn't Sciforums, but there's already about 150 refugees that have been through there. And, if you search for Sciforums on google, guess what you'll find?
Heh.

Anyway.
I hope that the forums don't go down. Because there is no replacement for them.
None.

Do you guys know something I don't? Why is the forum on the verge of collapse? Or is this just a precaution caused by the temporary fall that just occurred?

I'm not giving out my email. Too many people have it already. You can find me at the forum already mentioned.

And. Vslayer's right. You all really should be doing yourself a favor and bot-proofing your email addresses. You're just asking for spam.

Anyway. A response from el Jefe is what me return to this thread.
A pessimistic bunch, you are.
The prospect of losing sciforums is enough to make anyone pessimistic.
Seriously, Porf. A little reassurance would go a long ways. I think that what you took to be berating was just a request for some kind of reassurance.
I, for one, am not really up for posting here without some kind of reassurance of longevity. I've posted a bit here and there, but I can't see myself getting into any long and serious threads when the whole thing could go kaput at any time.

Your previous statements elsewhere have almost directly stated that nothing can be done to save the forums. It would seem that the only method to save them would be for you to feel better about the situation than you did the other day when you made those comments.

The forum is holding its collective breath waiting on your decision. (Well. I wouldn't be surprised if some don't even have a clue that anything is going on. I'm holding my breath, anyway.)

I'll see most of ya, at the science forum. I don't post there much, be it the case I post in other forums as well. In other words, I'm prepared to loose home, and move on. If that, does happen.

I alredy found some likeable atheist fellas & gals, here; Atheist.com (http://atheists.com/index.php)

It's small it's cozy, kind of like my first appartment.

Few thiest visit, and we could use the space to grow. though they are a bit more "toned down" then our ranting over here. ;)

For a bit more serious debates, and lots of reading & learning I go here:
Internet Infedels (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/index.php)

But if sci sticks around I'd still call it home.

I'm going to have some faith and be optimistic. I don't think that God is done with this place just yet. This site is so cool, and means a lot to me...has for years now. I've met people here that I love very dearly. And so Porf, I sincerely appreciate everything you've done to create and maintain this website for so long...thank you very, very much.

XOXO,

Lori
