It is a bit scarry to realize that 50% of Americans read at or below the 8th grade level. Just a few years back the U.S. navy had all of its technical manuals re-written down to the 9th grade level. it appears that the manuals will have to be re-written again. That isn't quite true. It is the Encyclopedia Britannica which is banned, supposedly because it has the formula for making beer. Looking over this forum, I might be inclined to agree with that study, although I don't. Doesn't anyone else stop to think about whether these studies are really completely true, instead of just taking it as fact? I went to a private elemtary school that ran well for less than half of what a public school of the equivalent size would have needed, as far as money. Maybe even 1/5 as much, and I learned better than my peers who went to a high school. Maybe its because education is socialistic that it is doing so badly?
Education is about to explode. We are soon going to discard the old paradigm of "learning" in instantly-obsolete schools and universities, all the megacorp megagovernment Academia-Biz that beats down the development of creativity and intelligence. Knowledge and experience are all here on the outside. All we have to do is ditch the mullas and the madrasas and drink it in. Very soon, sheepskins with your resume will elicit "eeeeeew..... No, it is because there are bunch of power hungry morons who are not held accountable to anyone running the schools. Perhaps parents should stop watching television and start shadowing their kids at school to find out what a hellish prison it is for many of them.
