i did get up to a blue belt in karate before i moved house then i never took it back up, then surprisingly a wu-shu centre opened up near me nd i gave it a try but it was so difficult i gave it up before i made one belt advancement
Damn, and all kick-boxing ever did for me was bruised shins and a Guinness deficiency...
I go up yellow belt in tae kwon do which is the lowest color because i had to move, but it was fun. It improves your fighting skills drastically and you don't get fat and lazy.

Perhaps the most useful martial art you can learn is Jeet Kune Do, if you can find someplace that teaches it.
Like I said somewhere else, I want to learn how to fight like Subzero in the Mortal Kombat movie.. from what IMBD says about the actor (what little there is), the actor knows ninjitsu, juditsu, and karate.
