So when are the Americans going to take responsibility for the refugees they created?
Is it possible for anyone in the US to get interested enough in this crisis?

Yes... when is the USA just going to get the hell out of the region and let the Arabs just cut eachother to shreads. That will help matters.

I am already paying enough taxes for this mess. Let the Saudi royal family pay. They have made money from this war and they have the most to lose if Pan Arab hatred for everyone associated with the war intensifies.

Unless you're living in a refugee camp, you haven't paid enough. :bugeye:

Nope, there are many Shia refugees too, its the "precision bombing" they are escaping, not to mention Sunni militias paid and armed by the US.

So, why do you imagine such people -- "refugees" -- might being needing to escape "precision bombing" and not imprecise bombing?

    They're just misunderstood?

Mostly because the motivation for both seems rather precipitous.

Not to mention that Shia militias are fighting other Shia militias. Both Iran and the USA seem to want Badr to beat Sadr because both Iran and the USA hope to make Badr their puppet and both know Sadr will never be anybody's puppet.

When Saddam was in power Badr got money from Iran and many of their people lived in Iran. Badr did not start getting money from the USA until after Chalabi and Allawi failed to find followers.

Did Saddam stop refugees from leaving Iraq or was Saddam a better ruler of Iraq than Bush is?

They said on the news that more Iraqis are happy with their lives now than two years ago. They also said that the polls show about 70% want U.S. troops to leave, but only 20% want U.S. troops to leave immediately; most still feel insecure and in need of U.S. army's protection. Interestingly, a friend of mine who works as an IT specialist in Iraq says the situation is still far from bearable and he can't leave the army base without fear of being shot at.
