Okay, this guy Ventura is, I hear, a former Navy SEAL, then became an actor and wrestler, and now he's a governor in the USA. Seems he can do just about anything he sets his mind to. Can any USA citizens, preferably from the state he governs, tell me how he is doing as a politician? What is the dude like?
Good question - I tried to get this going in another thread, as I think kmguru has some thoughts also, but never heard back. Maybe you'll have better luck here. Peace.
<i>"I can see Ventura making some noise in '04, perhaps on the sheer force of his personality alone."</i> I haven't followed the man's career that closely, but I suspect that <b>the force of his personality</b> has taken him this far. I haven't heard much about him recently.
Jesse Ventura as President...hmm. I can only imagine him at some peace talks with him body slamming a dictator to the floor, than saying ,"your my bitch now". He also has the look and personality that would make world leaders shit themselves. He'd be perfect, I'd vote for him. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Goofyfish I think I lost the thread that you were refering to. Anyway, I like Jesse very much. I am not a "hero worship" kinda guy. I like smart underdogs. I have seen him many times in Larry King show. He is much smarter than people give him credit. Had he been a republican, he would have made much more noise. On the otherhand, he is his own man and in the republican party (or any party) he would be taking orders from power brokers. The way to handle these brokers is if you have your own people strategically placed in the network. Jesse did not have the time to do that. Bottom Line: Unless he builds up his powerbase, he will remain at the present level of activity - which is no small change. Aspiration of presidency would be tough for several reasons. In the next sixteen years, we may have one african american, one female and another democrat as president. That leaves only one term to fight for the presidency - that will be tough. So, I recommend him to come into a cabinet level appointment in one of the future terms, which will be less hassle and as effective for the country. The real workers are those secretaries at the cab level. It is a numbers game...
