View Full Version : Jesse Jackson: cut off Obama's nuts!
madanthonywayne 07-09-08, 11:51 PM Old Jesse, no doubt pissed off that he's been pretty much left out of Obama's presidental bid, recently said he wanted to "CUT OFF OBAMA'S NUTS!" for talking down to black people.
He, of course, thought he was off mike. Here's the clip:

He immediately apologized. Still, it's funny hearing what Jackson really thinks of Obama.
spidergoat 07-10-08, 12:08 AM Jackson is such a media whore, it's his fault for going on Fox.
madanthonywayne 07-10-08, 12:12 AM Frankly, I'd say I'm impressed that he goes on Fox. So many Democrats are afraid to leave the hothouse environment of the mainstream media.
You might even say that it shows that Jackson has some.........balls.
Pfft, I would've thought he had balls if he'd actually decided to stick by his statement.
countezero 07-10-08, 12:36 AM Jackson never has liked Obama, so this isn't surprising.

Fox is not mainstream, man, that's ridiculous. All media is owned by the same people. All are mainstream serving the same masters.
countezero 07-10-08, 12:44 AM Fox is more highly rated than its competitors, so define "mainstream."
Well if you believe the whole us vs them mentality when it comes to the networks with Fox being the lone "conservative" voice amongst the other "liberal" voices, then couldn't it argued that most viewers watch something other than Fox? I don't know the numbers, just making a logical inference on the fact that it's one network vs what, 3?
countezero 07-10-08, 12:52 AM Sure, it could, assuming the numbers say what you think they do. But even so, arguing that Fox isn't mainstream is still patently ridiculous. You might not like it, but the network reaches a lot of people and represents their views.
True, just thought I'd play the devil's advocate. Not to mention lumping in Fox in with the other networks like dixon did is ridiculous too, considering the differences amongst the viewers and target audience.

For the record Fox is the most watched among cabel news. But you are making a practical mistake when you assume that all MSM are different, when they are not. So Dixon was correct in his post. It really doesn't matter what you watch, you get the same shit...
The same shit in terms of quality, not necessarily the same in terms of content or spin which is the difference I'm talking about.
Ganymede 07-10-08, 01:13 AM Jackson never has liked Obama, so this isn't surprising.
Nope, allot black leaders make the mistake of thinking they have to emulate Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton to reach national prominence. Obama and Deval Patrick for example realized that was a fruitless endeavor and decided to bypass them both all together. Now Jackson is incredibly jealous of Barack Obama. It's blatantly obvious.

Reality begs to differ.
Eli Sanders posted an interesting—and brief, for all those who need it in as few sentences as possible—analysis of the situation:
It may be the crudest language you’ve ever heard on a television news program (or more likely not), but it’s definitely the nicest thing Jackson’s done for Obama all year.
Obama now gets to accept a groveling apology from Jackson; he gets Bill O’Reilly telling his (white) conservative audience about how Obama’s upsetting a guy they probably already dislike; and the whole affair gets everyone in the media talking (again) about how Obama’s willing to say tough things about faith and personal responsibility even if they end up pissing of members of his traditional base.

If you meant the lack of it. Now to be honest Ted Koppel or Bill Moyers are pretty decent but that is more the exception than the rule....
otheadp 07-10-08, 10:06 AM Jealousy's a mothafucker :P
Here's a nice commentary about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqdBfo_hx80&feature=related
madanthonywayne 07-10-08, 11:56 AM That was pretty funny. Did anyone see the speech or whatever that Obama gave that prompted this reaction from Jackson? What did Obama say that was "talking down to black people" and was deserving of castration. You'll notice that the guy Jackson was talking to didn't seem in any way outraged by what Jackson said, btw.
I think it was in response to Obama's speech on Father's Day about the damage irresponsible black fathers who don't take care of their children do to black communities.
clusteringflux 07-10-08, 12:20 PM Jackson would rather steal people's money with fake charities than to "talk down" to them by saying something truthful.
Cosby got the same treatment when he suggested many black fathers need to man up.
thecollage 07-10-08, 12:40 PM I think it was in response to Obama's speech on Father's Day about the damage irresponsible black fathers who don't take care of their children do to black communities.
you hit the nail on the head.
madanthonywayne 07-10-08, 01:05 PM So the mere suggestion that it's not good to father a bunch of bastard children and then not take care of them is worthy of castration in Jackson's book? I think it's Jackson who's talking down to the black community if he thinks they can't do better than a 69% illegitimacy rate. The black political establishment, as exemplified by Jesse Jackson, is toxic. It does more to harm blacks in the US than the KKK.
clusteringflux 07-10-08, 01:16 PM Agreed. He's got it completely backwards as far as who should have their "nuts cut off".
otheadp 07-10-08, 01:25 PM It [Jackson et al.] does more to harm blacks in the US than the KKK.
Very shockingly put, but very true.
Jesse Jackson is rightfully angry, because Barack Obama has become more and more of an Uncle Tom as this election has progressed. I used to support Obama wholeheartedly, but seeing him sell out to such a pathetically low degree at the AIPAC meeting kind of made me feel indifferent towards him. It's not entirely his fault, but he's been shoving aside his lifelong friends and supporters to make himself seem closer to Whites in America. Obama clearly does his best to avoid being seen with Arabs and Blacks, which is why Jackson made those particular comments.

Obama had no choice but to assume the role as the Uncle Tom. The Hillary campaign along with the Republicans have successfully painted him as the radical Black candidate in the eyes of many voters. As the campaign progressed, his support among White working class voters continued to diminish. And the Reverend Wright tape and the small town voters comment only made matters worse. So Obama has no choice if he wants to win in November.
