Java(TM) 2 Platform (Winxp) questions

hello

i am noticing a new icon in the system tray, it says Java (TM) 2 Platform, and i can open up some console thing if i double click it.

what is this, has it anything to do with sciforums?

i just noticed there are two of these icons in the system tray now ...

what the heck is this.

im using winxp pro on a smoking fast new dell computer.

Nothing do do with SF bud.

You know you need 'Flash' to view some websites, well Java is the same kinda thing (i think!)

Is it a white coffee cup icon?

yes looks something like white coffee with red swirl coming up.

but why is it there? howcome theres two ?

Roger that! - Yep you're right.

There's probably two open as you may have two pages open which require the Java plug-in, or two applications.

It's there are the page / application you are viewing need that particular plug-in.

Just like you need Macromedias Flash for some net games and stuff.
