Cap'n Crunch inspired me for this thread.

So, who do you think is better, Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee?

My vote goes to Jackie

Jackie is the greatest stunt master in the world and brilliant martial artist

but Bruce lee is good and he made a one inch punch which is powerful but he didn't last that long in this world

Bruce Lee was the superior fighter by exponential amounts.
Jackie Chan is funnier and is a better actor.

Are you sure you're thinking of the right person. Jackie Chan, good actor, not two phrases I'd put together often.

I love the way Jackie uses props. He's made it into an art

Jackie Chan. His stunts are far more ridiculous, and you can (usually) take a girl to a Jackie Chan movie with less resistance.

Jackie Chan makes a fool of himself. Bruce is the master.

Did you know Jackie Chan appeared in The Way of the Dragon

Just a little fact for you

Yeah, and he accidentally hit Bruce. He talked Bruce into hitting him back off-camera. He said he really regretted the whole gesture.

It can't be too soon to include Jet Li into the question, can it? He's pretty quick and has an interesting style. Although, I'd have to agree and say that Bruce had to be the ultimate.

But Legend of Drunken Master had some very innovative fighting.

Ahhh, the joys of martial arts movies ...

Jet Li hasn't made enough 'good' movies yet. The only one that sticks to mind is Once Upon A Time In China

How can you even compare the 2? Jackie Chan is a great martial arts stunt man, but has anyone even read Bruce Lees books? He was thee greatest instructor in the world. He made up his own theory of fighting, and it worked! Oh wait, you guys are too young to know any better. Sorry...

If you think Bruce Lee is a good fighter in real life, you are mistaken. Bruce has never fought in a tournament. If he did, he would have gotten his asses kicked. He merely has a movie studio created image going for him.

Jackie Chan went to a Chinese opera school growing up in Hong Kong. It is very unlikely any of you have any clue what a Chinese opera is like. In a Chinese opera, acting is not as important as acrobatics. Martial arts is also taught in opera school. Actors and actresses in Chinese opera have to be extremely athletic. They do more flips than Gymnastic floor exercises.

After Jackie grew up, he became a famous stunt man. Eventually he got his own movies.

The best thing about Jackie's movies are the choreography which is second to none. His movies are all really low budget and poorly written. It's the amazing choreography that is worth watching.

Dude are you smoking crack again?:D I read the biography AND watched to movie on Bruce. He did indeed fight in a tournament(s), one that comes to mind, is the one wear he got his back broken and was paralyzed for quite some time. During which, he divised his own fighting style only to overcome his disabilities to come back and fight the very same guy that broke his back. This time winning, using his own techniques. Sooo.. where did you get your info?

I have to agree with Joeman with this:eek:

Bruce apparently fought that guy then broke his back and devised his own technique. If I remember back, it was the 60 sec technique or something

Jackie has made his work into Art. He performs his moves with ease and the way he uses props, beautiful.

Being a big Jackie Fan, his moves never seise to amaze me. Example, the ladder fight in First Strike. That was amazing, nay, aw inspiring. He has almost mastered his art and in every new film, there is a new stunt/technique.

Bruce only knowing Kung Fu is his downfall. Jackie has achieved high grades in dozens of different martial arts and it shows.

Also, even though I am still quite young, I do know better :p

Ummm.. last I heard the style of fighting that he invented is called Jeet Kune Do. The man was an inspiration as well as the Ultimate Fighter of all Time. I dont know... I think someone that invents a certain style and art of fighting is better than someone that does not. Not that Jackie doesnt kick ass as well, he just doesnt compare in my eyes.

Take care:)

Bruce was an amazing martial artist. He fought in a few tournaments and did devise his own fighting method. And Joeman, when bruce was growing up he also attented acting school (as I recall, his father was a film maker) and dancing school (if that has any relevence!).

The greatest fighter of the past while is probably a monk none of us have ever herad of.

I have to give Jackie Chan credit. His movies are hilarious to watch. There is a humour that just wasn't present to that degree in Bruce Lee's movies.

Bruce gave us a look into martial arts at a level that most had never seen. Realizing that movies are just that and not real life, every thing seen on a movie is set for you to see just what they want you to see. In that sense neither are real.

So what it comes down to is the style of the movie. Both men did their own stunts.

I think that Jackie benefits from quite a few more years of movie making experience from the movie industry that Bruce did not have. This in part is where the choreography comes in to play.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon benefitted much the same way as an example.

Should realy have included Michelle Yoeh. She did a film with Jackie, Police Story 3:Supercop (which is in my top 5 movies of all time). She kicks ass but her films aren't as highly rated as Bruce's or jackie's, except for Tomorrow Never Dies or Crouching Tiger
