It's Time to Insincerate ALL Opium/Poppy Fields

Let's go to the root of the problem. F-16s should fly in at their fastest possible speed and fire napalm on opium poppy fields world wide. Their highest speed will see to it that nothing gets shot down.



In the meantime, any police caught with meth in their blood should be imprisoned.

Any chemicals used to make meth should be watched more closely by people who don't actually use meth.

Enough hard drugs, the addicts can kill eachother once the supply dwindles.

not gonna work...I thought of that too...not enough napalm...fires will not spread everywhere. Not all will be burned.

the only way to get rid of the opium fields is by genetic warfare...introduce a gene in opium that in few generations will kill of the plants.

Um ... is everyone just being polite and looking past the obvious?

In the meantime, eradication programs simply don't work. At best you terrorize a bunch of locals, spray a bunch of children with poisonous herbicide, and wreck a bunch of legitimate crops in the surrounding area.

The UN once allegedly resolved to use biological warfare to eradicate marijuana and opium; they have a year left to accomplish their goal. Of course, they won't. I don't recall that the program ever went into effect; scientists couldn't develop a custom fungus to kill the plants that they could guarantee wouldn't cross over to other organisms.

In the meantime, as a fan of straight opium resin, I would suggest the problem is criminalization. This might be healthier for me in the long run, since I won't do heroin, but therein lies a difficult challenge in our drug war.

Heroin, opium resin, synthetic opiates: they all look the same to the criminal sentencing schedules. What, then, would you traffic if you were moving opiates? If you're going to get in the same amount of trouble, why not push the higher financial return—e.g. heroin?

One of the reasons I don't smoke opium resin these days is that it's hard to get. From the dealer's standpoint, why carry opium resin? You go to prison for the same period as heroin, and heroin simply makes more money.

 

Their "fastest possible speed" would be inconsistent with achieving the desired results.

Napalm isn't fired, it's dropped; and napalm, as such, isn't used any more.

Don't know much about... well pretty much anything, really, do you?

 

Did you ever consider that it's possible to manufacture more to meet needs?

Unfortunately, opiates are very useful medicinal drugs, kind of like cocaine.

The problem is when people take recreational nosing or needling to extremes.

I think to accomplish this you'd need some kind of "Spacio-Temporal Inverto-Unreality Bomb", rather than naplam - perhaps delivered by "Auto-Wormhole Generating Cyber-Rift Transverser", because F-16s can only operate in 3 dimensions.

How do we know he didn't simply mis-spell "insyncerate" - and that his intention was to somehow "de-synchronize" the fields... ...say, watering bare dirt, and plowing when the crops had just reached maturity.

A bold plan - and decidedly more "low-tech"... ...without the need for gigantic leaps in some manner of "trans-quantum meta-physics", & like that there.

Actually FIVE dimensions or more - since every matter has a gravity field regardless of how small or large it is, and gravity is caused by the higgs boson which dissipates into a 5th dimension.
