This is an exerpt from a letter by one of them. It can be found here along with statements by other conscientious objectors. Please keep in mind that these are the sentiments of someone who actually lives with danger every day, and not in the comfy, ideological arena of America.

    Peace.

A group statisticall prone to exist. Thats all I can say.

Whats a possible real aim? to keep themselves safe. No denying its a dangerous place to fight. I've said it before and I'll say it again ACTION IS NECESSARY. I've posted numerous threads on this already. Pop over to 'Battle at arafast comound' or 'where am I wrong about palestine' if you want to see my point. I refuse to type out the same thing a fourth time.

Israel has a right to security, and although I seldom support violence, I do support defense which is what this is all about. Palestinian extremists, no matter how much of a minority, have brought this on their people. I wont sit and let someone continually punch me in the face, until I have none to look at.

How many skyscrapers do the terrorists have to destroy before you take some defense against them. I dont mean pathetically hunting out individuals like bin laden, but cutting them off from the resources to do what they do, and pressure them into halting their crimes.

Or, quite possibly, they find their country's actions morally repugnant. As there is no evidence to the contrary, why should you assume an ulterior motive?
What is your real aim? Warmongering? My point being that we should not "read into" other's words.
Don't worry, I would not read it a fourth time... or third, for that matter.

So how should they respond to the Arab states' offer of peace?
Er... is this a trick question? Two?

you remind me quite a bit of tony1. sarcasm, pompousness and ignorance are not good qualities.
Firstly, I'd like to point out pompousness. Debating Logic- When you try to make a point, insulting the other side in any way immediately shows your lack of understanding and knowledge of the situation.

Secondly you might notice your second and you last quotes. You might notice some sarcasm embedded in their (Debating Logic again).

Lastly Ignorance shines through when you ask me to explain myself with the same questions after I've told you where to find the answers. Makes me wonder if you've even read it through 1st and 2nd times as you say have.

Quote 1) agree or not, you Cannot deny the possibility. Are you trying to say that it isnt a dangerous place to be? thats insane, I'd like to see you walk through those streets whistling with your hands in your pocket. It would be a matter of time before you got shot. I already gave an answer to the question you just spat back at me. BTW the israeli army is HUGE. Everyone is conscripted, and just like any armies, there are those that refuse to go.

Quote 2) I already told you what my motive was when I posted virtually the same thing 3 times, in a lengthy yet to the point explanation, which I dont recall being acknowledged in any way. Hmm I wonder why, perhaps I did have a point, perhaps....

Quote 3) Dont worry, I wouldnt post it a fourth, as you probably havent read it once, considering you ask me my 'real aim', warmongering you say, when I directed you to my 'real aim'. Maybe if you read my 'real aim' you'd see where I'm coming from.

Quote 4) Do you think Israel should give up some of its holy sites (virtue of its own existence) for security taken away by the very initiatiors? I dont think so. 97% is well enough, and if asked again I doubt that offer would be on the table. Extremists want 110%, and that wont happen.

Quote 5) Seems like you've misunderstood once again. I meant, how many skyscrapers do they have to destroy before you feel it (by ethics) right to take action just as the Israeli's did. It looks as though you've tried to detur a hypocritical stance which you've assumed.

Again you make assumptions that my intent is other than posted. Insulting? You'll have to point that out to me. Sarcasm? The second post makes a point that I address directly. The last post was mild levity. In bad taste perhaps, but there is no sarcasm. How many skyscrapers do they have to destroy before it is right to take action just as the Israeli's did? Well, perhaps you can tell me how many Israeli skyscrapers have been destroyed. Ignorance? Someone asks you to expand on your ideas and you merely refer to the same post over and over?

I sincerely apologize that you found offense in my posting.

    Peace.

Well I apologize too then, if I havent expanded enough.

From what I understand, though, my posts can get pretty long and I'd expect people to skim them, but I have posted my expansions numerous times about how they were forced into it. Etc.

Neways, I gotta get back to my homework. Spring Break is over tomorrow and I havent followed up on my commitements
