JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel's secret service declined to assist U.S. agents guarding former U.S. President Jimmy Carter during a visit in which Israeli leaders shunned him over his plans to meet Hamas, U.S. sources said on Monday.
"They're not getting support from local security," one of the sources said, on condition of anonymity.
This is a disgrace. Even America provided secret service detail to Ahmnadinejad, and many other heads of state that we didn't agree with. Israel is showing it's true colors. The civilized thing to do is to show the world, Hamas, and Carter, that despite their objections, they're still going to ensure his saftey. And I hope Carter free's the 3 Israeli soldiers that he's currently negotiating to be released. That will show the Israeli's and Hamas, that shooting missles into the most densely populated area in the world is not a roadmap to any long term solutions. Diplomacy is.
