A powerful bomb ripped apart an Israeli commuter bus in the northern Galilee early this morning, turning it into a fireball that killed 9 people and wounded 45, in a day of widespread Palestinian violence that defied Israel's tough crackdown...

At the Damascus Gate in Arab East Jerusalem, a gunman described by the police as a 19-year-old Palestinian, attacked an Israeli telephone company repair truck about midday, killing a security guard and wounding the driver. Israeli border police officers stationed in the area responded, killing the gunman and an Arab bystander.
