View Full Version : Is this real?
Aborted_Fetus 03-26-05, 10:36 PM http://www.adequacy.org/public/stories/2001.12.2.42056.2147.html
Anyone know if that is real? If so, it is pretty pathetic. Look at the other articles on that site from that guy, too. He seems to have a pretty skewed perspective on reality.
Gondolin 03-26-05, 10:39 PM 45 min a day Internet time.... "BUT PLEASE DADDY!!! I LOVE SURFIN THE WEB!!!"
I hope this site isnt real.
I loved this one...
6. Does your son use Quake?
Quake is an online virtual reality used by hackers. It is a popular meeting place and training ground, where they discuss hacking and train in the use of various firearms. Many hackers develop anti-social tendencies due to the use of this virtual world, and it may cause erratic behaviour at home and at school.
If your son is using Quake, you should make hime understand that this is not acceptable to you. You should ensure all the firearms in your house are carefully locked away, and have trigger locks installed. You should also bring your concerns to the attention of his school.
Communist Hamster 03-27-05, 08:37 AM I really hope that isn't real.
It cant be real, because a person so stupid inherently cant make a site like that.
It's almost painful to read it's so stupid.
Ophiolite 03-27-05, 08:51 AM It's quite the most bizarre thing I have read for some time. And I thought I had been desensitised after six months on sci-forums.
kazakhan 03-27-05, 08:52 PM BSD, Lunix, Debian and Mandrake are all versions of an illegal hacker operation system, invented by a Soviet computer hacker named Linyos Torovoltos, before the Russians lost the Cold War.
Anyone know if that is real?
Are you for real, that was some funny shit :D
Of course it's real Linyos and AMD the evil terrorists that they are, are going to get us all, run to the hills before it's to late people ;)
Closet Philosopher 03-27-05, 11:43 PM That is too funny. I am merging into the world of hackerdom and I want to say a few things regarding this story if ti is true.
I attend their teen parties with them to ensure no drinking or alcohol is on the premises.
Loser Parents
Has your son asked you to change ISPs?
AOL is the crappiest ISP out there. They charge twice the amount for half the connection. I changed ISPs from Bell (a large Canadian comapny) to a local ISP so I could hack the cap they put on connections. I now get over 10 megabits (more than my whole school's connection)
. Popular hacker software includes "Comet Cursor", "Bonzi Buddy" and "Flash".
This isn't "hacker" software. Anyone who is half-decent at computers knows that these programs are just crap that slows down your computer and should be removed immediately. Idiots.
f your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm. AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips.
I swear that this story is litteres with patriotism. AMD is better in performance tests. Real hackers don't need the best hardware because real hacking (coding and cracking) does not use much processing capability.
There are, unfortunately, many hacking manuals available in bookshops today. A few titles to be on the lookout for are: "Snow Crash" and "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson; "Neuromancer" by William Gibson; "Programming with Perl" by Timothy O'Reilly; "Geeks" by Jon Katz; "The Hacker Crackdown" by Bruce Sterling; "Microserfs" by Douglas Coupland; "Hackers" by Steven Levy; and "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" by Eric S. Raymond.
Many of these aren't even manuals. Real hakcing manuals teach someone how to code complicated programs that will invade systems.
Does your son use Quake?
That is just too funny for words.
Is your son becoming argumentative and surly in his social behaviour?
Many hackers that I collaborate with are some of the most intelligent and social people I know.
BSD, Lunix, Debian and Mandrake are all versions of an illegal hacker operation system,
Illegal? Arrest me.
Has your son radically changed his appearance?
That sounds more like ravers to me.
Is your son struggling academically?
Hacking develops the brain and helps problem solving skills.
This article must be comedy because I laughed myself to tears.
Its obviously a joke site..
so I could hack the cap they put on connections.
You'd better watch out. 'Uncapping' is a criminal offense and sys admins have ways of catching you.
From the bottom of the page.
The Adequacy.org name, logo, symbol, and taglines "News for Grown-Ups", "Most Controversial Site on the Internet", "Linux Zealot", and "He just loves Open Source Software", and the RGB color value: D7D7D7 are trademarks of Adequacy.org.
It's funny none the less.
As for the links on offer.... :D
Be warned this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0415900042/adequacy-20/002-0505470-9588832) is no joke.

§outh§tar 03-28-05, 01:23 AM This one is even more priceless: The Internet, Pornography, and Masturbation are destroying college students

3) Turn The Internet off between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. While it will be difficult to compensate for time zone changes, I'm sure the brilliant programmers at Microsoft can figure out a way to do this. An Internet curfew such as this would keep our young from perusing The Internet at late hours when over 60% of pornography is downloaded from zones like Lunix and Napster.
fetus_fajitas 03-28-05, 08:17 AM "While reading my son's email (like all parents should do)"
I can just imagine him sitting down reading the newspaper with his slippers whilst smoking a pipe like some 1950's Vision of America.
kazakhan 03-28-05, 08:53 AM Be warned this is no joke.
Oh, like Godly Tips on How to Punish and Beat Your Christian Child (http://www.landoverbaptist.org/news0303/spanking.html). :p
invert_nexus 03-28-05, 12:53 PM Adequacy.org has some funny shit. I found this on Slobadon Milosevich and Godwin's Law:
Counsel for the tribunal: … were rounded up and placed in concentration camps.
Slobodan Milosevic: Objecting! What is it you are saying by meaning these "camps of concentration"? Eh huh? Are you taking me for wet ass pussy? I kill you!
CFTT: "Concentration camps" is a phrase in common usage, referring to inhumane mass civilian imprisonment environments, Mr Milosevic. The term dates back to the second World War and the camps instituted by the Nazi party.
SM: GODWIN'S LAW! YOU LOSE FAGGOT! HAHAHAHA! You mention Nazis! You lose! Bye bye fucksucker!
In a state of some distress, the board of international judges were forced to rule that, on the technical merits of the case, counsel for the tribunal had indeed mentioned the Nazis, and thus that Milosevic was correct to invoke Godwin's Law (http://www.faqs.org/faqs/usenet/legends/godwin/).
"Something must be done", commented one onlooker.
