I'm curious about how often it's used.

There should be a button where you can ignore everyone.

Everyone has the right to make a fool of themselves ...and I'm included. So why get rid of them , just take them with a grain of salt. That is of course they don't start getting vulger or threatning.

ignore ignorance
(um wait, is there a member by that name?)

Absolutely not. I can't even imagine the point of it. If I didn't want to read whatever a certain poster had to say, I would skip it or just skim over it.

How about you, 1368? You asked the question, is it something that has come up?

No, I'm new, but surely if you ignore someone it blocks just their posts not the whole thread. Doesn't that make the thread kind of hard to follow, if big chunks are missing? And does it telll you if something is missing, or are you supposed to guess?

i want to know what the whole point of the ignore list is.

No. And if they were, I'd probably be compelled to view their posts anyway. So why bother.

i want to know what the whole point of the ignore list is.To be honest, I've used it once, and as a filter. It was easier for me to not read the tantrums of a particularly ... colorful and "loone-y" poster. I could follow the more relevant debates within a topic that way.

But only one poster, and I've largely forgotten about him; I don't think he's even around these days.

There are some people around here who might remember what that means, Doc.

Killr Carrot is on my ignore list. He's had the honor of being the first person to ever end up on my list.

It happened . . . almost a month ago . . . In some thread, he posted suuuuupeeerrlllllooooonnngg posts with nothing but "hahahahahahahahahahaha . . .". It took forever to scroll down.

But Killr Carrot is gone now, so I don't hafta worry about him. I'm lazy, though, so he's still on my list, and will most likely remain on it.

I'm gonna go find that thread . . .

Hmm, my ignore list has following members on it:

ajota
james bond
jbrittenham
vincent28uk

Can't really remember the topmost two, but I am sure they are on it for a reason. Formerly on my ignore list: Proud Muslim, Logically Unsound and Philocrazy.

Heh, thanks Unsound. :D
