Is Red Light Running from an Over-Inflated Ego?

When a person habitually runs red lights, does that reveal that person as a pompous self-absorbed egomaniac, who thinks little of other human life, or what?

It could be because they don't see anybody coming in the other lane, and at that point the light's useless.

 

Not that yours is a good excuse, I'm talking about running lights at intersections with cars and/or pedestrians waiting to proceed pending the go sign.

I think that might cover many of the red-light runners, but sadly there's probably about as many excuses for it as there are people who do it.

"I was running late, so...."

"I was in a hurry, and there wasn't anything coming, so...."

"I have a hot date, so..."

"My girl said she wanted sex tonight, so..."

"I didn't think running a red-light was wrong if there's nothing in the intersection!"

"That damned light changed too fast!"

"I would've made it through the yellow if this damned car had more power!"

"Hey, I saw Paris Hilton run a redlight once, so it's okay for me to do it!"

"I saw a cop do it without a siren or flashing lights, so it must be legal, right?"

"I'm Donald Trump, so I don't have to follow no stinkin' redlight laws!"

And the list goes on and on and on and........

Over the internet you cannot hear the inflections of my speech, or the other visual/audio clues which would easily identify it as a joke.
Apparently the 'Free Thoughts' section is a bit to serious for jokes, and everyone is assumed a liar outright!

I had to run that light, the voices at the bottom of my vodka bottle told me to.
