Aside from who is right or wrong and all the moral issues. You think that extremist Palestinian / Israeli (counter)violence will ultimately help reach their objectives?

These objectives could be many, like:

- Hoping the other party will get tired and go to negotiating table with serious compromise (like giving up Jeruzalem for example)

- Hoping that the violence will ultimately lead to a total arab/israeli war so that the matter can "be settled" for once and for all

- Keep the violence going so there is no room to critisize the settlement policy, pushing the palestinians out of territories
