A typical house cat gave birth to a rare African wildcat after scientists pulled off what they called the unprecedented feat of transferring a frozen embryo between species.

Check out the article, if only to see how darn cute that kitten is! :)

Okay, I wanted a cat for my Let's Prove Schroedinger Wrong thing, but not that one!

I think this is a viable way to save a species from extinction, although I also believe that some species become extinct for a reason.

Human evolution comes to my mind. We tend to kill and consume everything in our path--including each other.

I suppose we could assume that this is the work of nature within us. On the other hand, where is nature--our appetites--taking us?

It's a curious thought that we are recreating what we have, or nearly have, destroyed. It's as if we are chasing our own tail.

Anyway, more power to the rare African wildcat. Life would be that much less interesting without 'em.

It's all very large.
