Crunchy Cat 01-24-08, 02:04 PM Very cool. What did he do to earn such a great award?
darksidZz 01-24-08, 02:17 PM ehh? inzomnia is not a guy?!
ehh? inzomnia is not a guy?!
ehhh, are you in wonderland?
inzomnia 01-25-08, 03:24 AM Thank you draq, Sandy, Enmos, ripley, CC, thank you, all...!
Very cool. What did he do to earn such a great award?
Last year during his master thesis (he is a PhD student now), he developed a
paddy dryer which is fuelled by biomass (the risk husk itself). The dryer help
the farmers to increase their yield by minimizing harvest lost. He did his master
thesis in Indonesia (my home country), although he couldnt speak Indonesian.
His result was adapted already in 3 villages there, with the support of VDI
and local investors, the payback period is only 3 months . There is this
coverage by local magazine (hope can scan it) when he did his pilot installation
there. Said the moderator last night, "this invention is technically feasible,
economically viable, socially acceptable, and environmentally sound..."
The award is also given considering his age is still under 30.
I am so proud of him :bawl:
His model was not something really new, it is adopted from existing model,
only simpler, cheaper (because he utilized waste as fuel), and more efficient
(some mechanical things about oven modification which I dont understand,
he recycled the gas waste to heat back the oven, something like that).
inzomnia 01-25-08, 03:27 AM For a note, my country is the 3rd biggest paddy producer, so I guess it has to do
with its future potential as well. I'll send link if they put it in VDI site (I hope).

Wow, anyone whom creates such excellent and efficient green energy technology deserves an award.
