So I noticed that you have this sciforums statistics section at the bottom of your site and I was wondering if there were any plans to add anymore site statistics to it. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! It would be interesting to see things like number of active threads, average active threads, MVP Posters (most per year, per month, per day), Most posts ever, longest continuous member, most threads started, most threads started that ended up in the cesspool (lol), longest continuous mod, and I can't think of anymore now but I'll add them in further posts if I do... aka homepage Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! we are probably nested up a bit from root /www/sciforums/index.xxx
So what do you all think? Is it a dumb idea? Does it sound cool? (One for the mods) Is it even possible/probable?
True.. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Homepage it is. In my country 'homepage' is commonly used to indicate an entire website, not just the starting page. Hence the confusion my part. Edit: Perhaps I should have said 'starting page' :bugeye:
I would have no problem with it. But I fear that it's not deemed important enough to be spending time on. I'm not sure whether or not there are any extra options in the forum software. Perhaps if there are they could just 'turn them on'.
I'd be VERY interested in that statistic too. With pictures, of course Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I only asked because I can see that they have everything that they need to make it. They have time stamps and since they have a newest member and most users online at one time that means they can access the time for poling purposes. Since they can pole the site they could get all of this done. I just wish I could program I would offer to do the work. Hopefully the site would calculate everything beforehand and display the value instead of recalculating every time someone opens the site. They could maybe make it so it only tallys everything up at midnight or something. The interesting part would be deciding how to calculate the different statistics (i.e. what constitutes an open thread).
Kind of like getting on the internet and only reading stuff from November 3rd, 2003. Everyhting that happened that day and that day only. All the posts from that day on every forum. Gets old fast though.
