Lets assume that the topic title was much more interesting then what I'm about to say... because it was.
Okay, the basic idea is about personal force fields. Assume that we have the ability to make a "wall of energy" that absorbs energy, kenetic and electrical.
What would be the most convinient way of processing the kenetic engergy?

If you did have a force field that could redirect a kinetic blast of any form you would still take on all the momentum. Here let me give you a example lets say you were hit by a cannon projectile with your shields up, the bullet would bounce back or stop in mid air, you would not be hit or take on damage but you would be knocked back like a cue ball.

Momentum is a form of kenetic energy... I was thinking that the vibration could be turned into external heat and that you could use that as an aditional weapon.. though you would have to bring canned air...

Sure but no conversion is 100% efficient you would still take on some of the momentum.

An average bullet has about 450 J of kinetic energy. If you were to get shot by a bullet and if the collision was perfectly elastic (v1m1 = v2m2), you would gain about 0,03 m/s, which would be negligeable.

sure thats why I used a cannon in my example get hit by a 4kg sabo at 2700m/s.
besides how do you make a force feild anyways?
I think that is exactly what Fafnir is brainstorming for...how?
