I've been paging through some old books of mine recently and came across some of the ideas put fourth by Martin Heidegger. It seemed to be very interesting, if not a little odd and controversial. The problem is that I have never read any Heidegger. Does anyone know a good place to start? Some have suggested I read An Introduction to Metaphysics before I take a stab at Being and Time.

Being and Time is very hard and mucky to get through.
My advise is to start by reading things about Marty. I have a great book about him and Wittgenstein, I'll find it and give you the title.
He's a difficult writer to understand, so start with the basics.
