The compromisers and half-assers want it gone now because of the internet. No, it should never have been there at all. It was a bad idea then and it's a bad idea now. I'm talking mainly copyrights and patents here. Before these "IP" laws, people got along just fine. Nobody needs "IP" rights for food, clothing, and shelter.

Now those that actually support "intellectual property" make laughable mistakes in arguments. Like arguing that copying something is "stealing". Reminds me of creationist "scientists", although they actually have a believable idea.

    Hello idiot

The next time a genius invents something wonderful, he ought to just keep it to himself for his own personal use.

Imagine if the person who invented the television had done that. Some guy in a laboratory he built under his house, tinkering around with tools for 5 years until he finally contrusted a TV

And man, since the early 1900's, or whenever it was TV's were invented, there would have been only one TV to ever exist, and not billions on earth today, sitting on the shelves for sale in Best Buy shops, or being watched by people in their living rooms.

I don't know how much I would miss my TV, but I'd rather keep the device I create to myself than share it with the rest of the world, knowing some asshole is going to duplicate my work, make millions of dollars off of it, take the credit for his own, and in the truth steal all of the hard effort I put into making my project (like spending 10 years in my basement crafting something unique, then someone takes my work within a matter of seconds)

Keep the item for myself, and enjoy the benefits from making it.

Besides you fool, you're nothing more than a piracy advocate trying to manipulate the law of intellectual property as an excuse to get the stuff you love for free

It's not "getting stuff", it's copying information. And copying information is always free, due to the laws of physics.

And if I made TV in my basement? Well I'd use hexadecimal for everything so nobody would be able to copy it. I wouldn't need IP, I'd just rely on the fact that most people are idiots who understand only decimal.

Imagine the people that invented computers and the Internet. What if they kept it for themselves? Easy: You would not have a place to vent your ignorance.

And the TV... What good would it be to have a television with nothing to watch?

Well if they kept it for themselves maybe it would use hexadecimal with their own numerals. I have my own hexadecimal numerals.
